UPLIFTING CAKE
You will need:
1- Cup cake flour
1- Tablespoon water
1 1/4- Cups sugar
1- Tablespoon lemon juice
1/2- Teaspoon salt
1- Teaspoon cream of tartar
6- Egg yolks
10- Egg whites
First, beat egg yolks until stiff then add 1/2 of the sugar, salt, lemon juice. Sift flour carefully fold into egg mixture. Whip egg whites lightly. When half beaten sift in cream of tartar and add water, continue whipping until whites hold their shape. Carefully fold in the other half of the sugar. Them mix together both mixtures carefully. Pour mixture into un-oiled tube pan. Bake on 325F for one hour.
This next recipe is a simple butter cake that can be lightly frosted for a nice sweet tooth satisfaction.
SIMPLE BUTTER CAKE
You will need:
2- Cups self rising flour
1-Teaspoon vanilla
3/4- Cup milk
2- Eggs
1- Cup Sugar
3/4- Cup butter
Directions:
Cream sugar and butter together completely. Add egg yolks and beat together completely. Add flour and milk blend well until no lumps, then add vanilla. Blend together well. Then add in egg whites that have been stiffly beaten. Pour complete mixture into well oiled layer cake pans. Bake on 375F for 25 to 30 minutes. Then remove and cool and frost with favorite frosting.
